We are looking for an excellent Teaching Assistant to work in class in the mornings and deliver interventions across the school in the afternoon.
Fair Furlong Primary school require an excellent TA to work in class in the mornings and deliver interventions across the school in the afternoon. This post would suit a flexible enthusiastic professional who feels confident to work with children. They need to deliver high quality support and communicate very effectively with children, colleagues and families. The successful candidate must be able to work independently as well as part of a team and we are keen to appoint someone who has a commitment to making a difference within our community and is determined and aspirational for all children’s learning.
This is primarily directed towards the support of maths and literacy and therefore we are looking for someone who is proficient in these areas and is able to confidently support learning of these subjects. Although the TA would work largely under the direction of the teacher the post requires the ability to take initiative, addressing misconceptions and being proactive in working with the teacher to adjust plans. Whilst supporting in the classroom the successful applicant would be working with children in both small groups and 1:1.
The successful candidate will be need to be confident in independently managing small groups of children with varying learning needs, from supporting the lowest ability children to extending the most able. It is important for our TAs to build a good rapport with children and to be able to challenge as well as support. In addition applicants should be able to manage resourcing and keeping records as well as having a creative flair to engage children.
Hours of work
- 8:30-3:30 (inc ½ hr unpaid lunch break)
- Monday – Friday
