Coed Glas Primary school requires an excellent TA to work in both in class and to deliver literacy, numeracy and wellbeing interventions. This post would suit a flexible enthusiastic professional who has successful experience working with children across the primary age range. They need to deliver high quality support and communicate very effectively with children, colleagues and families. The successful candidate must be able to work independently as well as part of a team. The children are looking for someone who is kind, caring, creative, fun and understands how to help them learn.
To provide effective literacy and numeracy support, we are looking for someone who is proficient in these areas and is able to confidently support learning of these subjects. Although the TA would work largely under the direction of the teacher the post requires the ability to take initiative, addressing misconceptions and being proactive in working with the teacher to adjust plans. Whilst supporting in the classroom the successful applicant would be working with children in both small groups and 1:1.
The successful candidate will be need to be confident in independently managing small groups of children with varying learning needs, from supporting the lowest ability children to extending the most able. It is important for our TAs to build a good rapport with children and to be able to challenge as well as support. In addition applicants should be able to manage resourcing and keeping records as well as having a creative flair to engage children.
