We understand the role that all members of staff play in ensuring our pupils make the best possible progress whilst at our School. This includes teaching assistants who enhance the learning of pupils throughout the School.
We are seeking to appoint an innovative and highly competent Teaching Assistant to work in our growing, inclusive school. The role involves supporting a pupil with Additional Learning Needs to ensure their needs are met, enabling them to be fully integrated into school life. The support will be a mixture of direct individual support with the adult and pupil, paired support with another pupil, and small group support with other pupils in the class. It is recommended that any potential candidates contact the school to discuss the pupil’s needs.
The successful candidate would need to demonstrate a high knowledge of supporting pupils with their speech, language and communication needs. They would need to work in partnership with the classroom teacher and other professionals in order to ensure maximum pupil progress. They would need to work under direction but also on their own initiative.

The children at Llanedeyrn Primary School are joyful, determined and successful learners. The successful candidate will come into contact with many children and you will learn much about their likes, dislikes and their varied personalities.
We will be seeking to appoint someone who has high expectations of children academically and socially, has good interpersonal skills, and understands the importance of regular, clear communication. A knowledge of hearing and visual impairment is also desired. An ability to demonstrate knowledge of different literacy and numeracy initiatives is also desired.

Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
