Teaching Assistant / Midday Supervisor
Start Date: September 2020
We are looking to appoint a friendly and caring teaching assistant with experience of working with young children. The role would also suit a graduate interested in becoming a primary school teacher through the SCITT route - learning on the job.
We want to appoint a caring and patient Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning in our school. You will be working 4 mornings a week (12 hours), term time only with some additional afternoon hours that can vary termly. You will work with the children on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, supporting them in the classroom and playground. You will need to be organised, perceptive and sensitive to the needs of others, as well as being flexible, adaptable and work well in a team. Ideally experience of a similar role preferred, although training and support will be provided.
In order to provide continuity into the lunchtime break we expect our Teaching Assistants to take on some midday supervisor duties.
This role would also suit a graduate interested in becoming a primary school teacher through the SCITT route - learning on the job.
Upon finishing a successful year as a TA and meeting our SCITT criteria, the successful candidate would be offered a sponsored teacher training placement at the school for 2020/21.
