We are looking to recruit x2 Teaching Assistants (TA) to join our exciting school. We have a great mix of children, a strong and supportive staff team and we have a good reputation for the inclusion of children with special needs, including a number on the autistic spectrum. We have a supportive parent and governing body. We had another very positive Ofsted inspection in March 2017.
We require skilled and enthusiastic assistants who can support teaching and learning and address the personal and individual needs of our pupils. You will need to be a good communicator, cheerful, calm, resilient and able to work as part of a team. Ideally, you will have a relevant teaching assistant qualification and have some experience of working in a primary school and for the SEND role some experience of working with pupils with additional needs. The role will require a candidate that can make a difference: a candidate that shows initiative and can evidence the value that they bring to the classroom.
The two positions are as follows:
1. Teaching Assistant - supporting a child with SEND
22.5 hours per week term time only, temporary fixed term (until 31 August 2021) – based in Y5/6 Monday to Friday 08:45-13:15
2. Teaching Assistant – general TA role
13 hours per week term time only, temporary fixed term (until 31 August 2021) – based in Y5 Monday and Tuesday 08:30-15:30 with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break each day.
(There may also be some additional casual additional hours in our Before and After School Club on an adhoc basis for either position.)
You will not routinely be expected to work Teacher Training Days, but may be invited to do so on occasions and be paid overtime.
Further information about the school can be found by visiting the school website. Online meetings for you to find out more about the role and school, and to ask any questions you may have, are planned for 4.30pm on Thursday 24 September and at the same time on Tuesday 29 September. If you would like to join either of these meetings, please email the school office.
The closing date for applications for both positions is noon on Friday 2 October 2020. If you are successful in the short-listing process, you will be invited to attend an interview on Friday 9 October. Please note - this is likely to be a remote interview.
