Hours: 17 Hours 45 Minutes per week, Term time only (Monday and Tuesday 10.30am – 12.15pm & Thursday & Friday 8.30 am – 3.30pm)
Salary: Hay 9 (£9,481 - £10,467 per annum)
This is a temporary post subject to funding and will end when the funding ceases or the child leaves the school.
We require a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide care and support for a child in KS2 with speech, language and communication needs. This very rewarding role will suit an SEN teaching assistant who has had experience of working with children with special needs on a 1:1 basis.
The successful candidate will be sensitive to the needs of this child who has a diagnosis of Autism and identified anxiety issues associated with academic learning. You will be able to work independently under the direction of a class teacher and special needs co-ordinator.
Support is required in all curriculum areas to help maintain the child’s focus and attention for longer periods, in order for her to work to the best of her ability and to fulfil her undoubted academic potential.
ECHP targets and outcomes will also need to be worked on through personalised learning opportunities, including work in SEND areas such as communication, speech and language development, and other cognition and learning activities.
Applicants must be flexible, supportive and able to use their own initiative and liaise closely with other staff members.
