TEACHING ASSISTANT (KS1)
Scale 4, SP7-10, depending on experience and/or relevant training
Term-time only (39 weeks/year worked, 44.27 paid), 32.5hrs/week. Salary, including holiday pay, per annum £17,671-18,644 (spread over 12 months), depending on relevant experience.

All candidates must be creative and adaptable, and have a passion for working with primary school-aged children. You should be able to demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills, have a flexible approach, good organisational skills and the ability to build relationships with children, teachers and parents. All our teaching assistants have a wider responsibility to monitor the welfare of all of our pupils throughout the day, in particular including break times and lunchtimes and as and when dictated by school requirements. The teaching assistant will be expected to occasionally carry out teaching duties to relieve class teachers.
At Sheen Mount we have a committed, dedicated and experienced team of teaching assistants so good personal and communication skills are essential.
Due to strict Covid-19-related social distancing measures currently in place at the school, the selection and recruitment process will take place in various stages. After the shortlisting of application forms, the second stage will involve an interview with two members of the leadership team via video call (Google Meet) and a 30 minute written task to be filled in via an on-line link. Please let the school know if you do not have Internet access or a device so that we can adjust our process accordingly. Successful candidates may be contacted to participate in a further remote session in which they will be asked to engage in an activity with pupils.
