The North East Surrey Short Stay School is currently looking to recruit an inspirational and motivated Teaching Assistant for term time and five INSET days.
You will be joining a supportive, committed and social team, working in a dynamic and caring atmosphere to make a difference for the children who need you most.
The school delivers Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 learning and intervention programmes to permanently excluded pupils and those at risk of permanent exclusion. We work very closely with our partner schools and the Local Authority’s strategic objectives to reduce permanent exclusions and educational disaffection. We are also introducing a new Outreach programme to support the students in school.
We support pupils with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties through a range of educational and therapeutic programmes. We work positively to support children with complex needs that can be a barrier to learning and help those who have struggled to succeed in a mainstream environment.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic TA who is able to demonstrate a commitment to high standards of education and pupil progress in order to raise pupil achievement, progress and support their reintegration towards their appropriate pathway.
You should be able to demonstrate that you are a creative and innovative practitioner who has the ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
You should be a resilient and outgoing individual with a good sense of humour who relishes a challenging opportunity and who has a natural ability to build rapport with the students.
Experience working with SEMH would be advantageous but not essential - it is more important that you have a desire and are ready to undertake a fresh challenge outside of mainstream education.
It is important that you have good levels of literacy and numeracy - GCSE English and Maths grade C/Level 4 or equivalent.
The North East Surrey Short Stay School is based across 2 sites, one in Hersham and the other in Staines-Upon-Thames.
