To support the continuing growth of the Post 16 phase of the school, the Governors are looking to appoint dedicated, experienced, confident Teaching Assistants to join our Post 16 team. In September 2022 across the school there will be 220 pupils on roll and over 100 staff. In the Post 16 phase there will be 25 students across Years 12 to 15.
Applications from staff currently working in mainstream schools are very welcome as well as newly qualified teachers.
The school’s Post 16 provision is a Local Authority provision and provides an opportunity for young people who wish to follow an academic pathway and continue their studies for further GCSE/ Level 2 qualifications and above, but for whom a college environment is not yet appropriate. Students have complex communication and interaction needs usually associated with an autistic spectrum disorder including Asperger’s syndrome, and complex needs including anxieties, emotional, social and mental health needs. The school’s website has a Post 16 section and we recommend that you review this as it will provide additional information about what we offer at Alderman Knight for our Post 16 students. Please note not all our pre 16 pupils will transfer to our Post 16 provision after Year 11.
We are looking for candidates with experience supporting the learning of students with a range of special educational needs and with a working knowledge of the National Curriculum who are confident to support learners working at GCSE/ Level 2 and above.
