This apprenticeship is suitable for anyone looking to start their career in the Education sector. To complete the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Standard, you will have completed classroom observations, 1-2-1 and group professional discussions, knowledge-based assignments and collected examples of your practice in your role as a Teaching Assistant.
At the end of your apprenticeship you’ll achieve a nationally recognised qualification, (Level 3 Teaching Assistant Standard) as well as valuable work experience, that will provide you with the best chance possible of being offered a full-time Teaching Assistant position.
Working as an Apprentice Teaching Assistant, you’ll provide support to teachers in preparing for lessons and helping create a safe and enjoyable learning environment for all students. The role offers excellent prospects for career growth and an opportunity for permanent employment upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, however this cannot be guaranteed.
The ideal candidate should have a natural ability to engage with different age groups and have some experience in working with young people but not necessarily in an educational establishment. The role is very varied so you will need to be able to think on your feet, be resilient and highly organised. As an ambassador of the school, you will promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students, so good communication skills are vital for this role.
Ultimately, you will be supporting vulnerable children of different age groups to achieve their highest potential academically and encourage classroom engagement and social interaction with others. The post holder will be supported by the SENDCo, Class Teachers and existing Teaching Assistants.
