An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to support teaching and learning at Rise Academy.
We’re looking for a dedicated individual to provide tailored support to our pupils and who has extensive experience in supporting low level learners with GCSE English.
You will be committed to making a positive difference to young people’s lives and in supporting and developing their learning. Your intervention will help enable an outstanding learning environment for our young people, providing the support they need to succeed.
The successful candidate will be a committed team player with excellent organisational and technical skills. You will have the ability to engage learners to explore meaning which will embed the relevance of reading for life, expand vocabulary and broaden the range of texts on offer.
You will be able to plan, develop and structure intervention sessions with material that is accessible and exciting, and linked to English FS and GCSE Language SOW
To differentiate lesson plans and SOW to the needs of their learners
Record and maintain accurate progress records
The ideal candidate will have a Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent) and must have had experience of working within an educational secondary establishment. If you have the necessary skills and qualifications, and furthermore you believe you have what it takes to succeed as a Reading and Intervention Teaching Assistant, then please apply.
You will have:
• GCSE in English and Maths at grades ‘C’ or ‘5’ and above and NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent
• Experience working with children in a secondary school or other setting
• Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with students, parents and staff
• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
