We require a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work on a one to one basis with a child with an EHC Plan. This child has been with us since EYFS and we require a TA to provide the greatest care and support as the child moves into Year 5. This very rewarding role would suit a TA with previous experience of working with children with Downs Syndrome.
The successful candidate will be sensitive to the needs of this child, who has developmental delay in language and communication skills. Support is required in all curriculum areas to help maintain and support the child’s learning, to build on the amazing work that has gone on before. EHCP targets and outcomes will also need to be worked on through personalised learning opportunities, including work in SEND areas such as Communication, Speech and Language development, physical activities to help gross and fine motor skills, and other Cognition and Learning activities.
Applicants must be flexible, supportive, and able to use their own initiative and liaise closely with other staff. You will be able to work independently, under the direction of the class teacher and the Inclusion leader.
This is a temporary contract, dependent on funding and the child remaining at this school.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety and welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment and all appointments will be subject to appropriate vetting, including an enhanced DBS disclosure check.
