About our Team Leader role:
The role is based primarily from Cambridge campus but you may be expected to work out of Huntingdon on occasions.
There are several facilities available to staff, which include a comprehensive gym membership, various food outlets and competitive pricing through our range of commercial facilities.
In addition to the day-to-day duties of a Lecturer, the purpose of the Team Leader role is to support the Head of Department by:
• Assisting with timetabling of courses across the Department
• Assisting with supervision of team members by holding regular 1:1 meetings to monitor performance, provide support and agree targets
• Conducting appraisals for agreed number of team members (note the Head of Department) will determine the targets for all team members)
• Developing and implementing a teaching cover rota for the Department
• Deputising for the Head of Department at Directorate meetings
We are looking for someone with extensive relevant experience in teaching English or Maths and have good knowledge of the Supportive Learning area in an FE setting.
Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate relevant industry skills is essential for the role.
You should have current Health & Safety knowledge relevant to the role and good interpersonal, administrative and communication skills.
Being organised and able to meet deadlines is also essential.
You should have a university degree or equivalent in a relevant subject in addition to trade qualifications.
A teaching certificate such as DTLLS or Cert ED or PGCE is essential for the role.
