London South East Colleges is a major provider of specialist programmes for learners with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities within the South East London area.
Our SEND department at our Bexley Campus has an excellent reputation for delivering study programmes in our fully accessible facilities to learners with diverse needs.
We are looking to appoint an experienced individual to support the teaching staff in a variety of subjects including carpentry, horticulture, art and enterprise, they will help to actively develop both the independence and employability skills of the learners within our discreet SEN provision.
If you want to be part of our outstanding team, you must be enthusiastic, have a sound knowledge of carpentry and the machinery within a carpentry workshop, be creative in your approach to supporting the curriculum and have a keen interest in supporting our learners in creating items for their successful enterprise activities.
The successful candidate will need to be self motivated, be able to self manage as well as be a great team player.
A relevant teaching qualification, English and Maths at Level 2 and a Carpentry & Joinery qualification would be desirable but not essential.
As the College supports a number of children and vulnerable adults, all staff are exempt from Section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Accordingly, most staff will be subject to either a 'Standard' or 'Enhanced' DBS (formerly CRB) check.
