Term Time, 39 weeks pa, 32.5 hours per week
To commence 5th September 2022 – 31st August 2023 in the first instance
The appointment is of a temporary nature due to the identified budget provision to provide ALN support in the school, to individual or groups of pupils, as directed. Budget provision has been identified initially until 31st August 2023. However, the appointment will be reviewed on a regular basis, taking into account any changes to the budget provided.
This salary is subject to the Living Wage supplement which brings pay rates up to £9.79 per hour (scp 1-3). This supplement will be reviewed in April 2022 and thereafter annually in April. Cardiff Council reserves the right to make any changes to, or removal of, the Living Wage supplement.
The Governing Body wish to appoint a pro-active, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant, with a commitment to inclusive learning and supporting the learning, needs and inclusion of pupils with additional learning needs. An ability to contribute to the warm, caring, inclusive ethos of the school is essential.
The successful candidate will work as a 1:1 TA with a pupil with additional learning needs. They should also be able to demonstrate good communication and organisational skills, good interpersonal skills, show initiative and work well as part of a dedicated team.
The suitable candidate will have experience of working or volunteering in a primary school and be someone who is happy to “get stuck in”, whatever the activity or learning taking place. Good, accurate literacy and numeracy skills are needed.
