RHONDDA CYNON TAFF COUNCIL
REQUIRED FOR JANUARY 2020
2 x OUTREACH TEACHER FOR WELLBEING AND SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIOURAL DIFFICULTIES (SEBD)
EMPLOYED BY LEARNER SUPPORT SERVICE BASED AT TAI EDUCATION CENTRE
TEMPORARY UNTIL AUGUST 2020 - REQUESTS FOR SECONDMENT WELCOME
Access and Inclusion Service is looking for two experienced teachers to fulfil the role of temporary Outreach Teacher for Wellbeing and Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. The main objective of the role is to support schools in the primary phase to ensure effective mainstream inclusion for pupils experiencing SEBD and those who need support relating to wellbeing.
Outreach to primary schools from Tai Education Centre is an innovative pilot project being launched in January 2020. The Tai Education Centre has been deemed as ‘Excellent’ across all inspection areas in its recent ESTYN inspection in June 2019. The project aims to capitalise on the outstanding practice within the Tai Education Centre and will form part of the Access & Inclusion strategy to improve the continuum of SEBD provision within the LA.
The role will have a primary focus upon assisting schools to develop strategic whole school approaches relating to effective behaviour management and promoting mainstream inclusion opportunities for pupils with a range of SEBD particularly those at risk of exclusion. Ideally candidates will have the knowledge and experience of developing whole school behaviour systems at a strategic level and of using a range of specialist teaching methods and resources for pupils with the above difficulties across the curriculum.
The successful candidates will have the ability to draw upon the expertise and knowledge of the Tai Education Centre to support their daily practice. Day to day line management will be provided by the Head of Centre with strategic overview from the Access & Inclusion Service.
Closing date for applications: Friday 20th December at 12 noon.
