The Priory Learning Trust is looking to recruit Trustees.

If so, joining a MAT as a Trustee could be an excellent opportunity for you to not only share your insights, lived experiences, and passion, but bring those professional skills and knowledge to an organisation which strives to have impact across its communities and for its students and staff.

What you will do:
● Establishing and steering the Trust’s clarity of purpose
● Overseeing effective governance and decision-making
● Scrutinising plans for growth or consolidation
2. Financial stewardship and legal compliance
● Ensuring the Trust is financially secure and has a sustainable budget
● Ensuring diligent scrutiny, checks and reporting
● Managing risk: ensuring that the Trust is meeting its statutory and legal responsibilities
● Ensuring pupils are making appropriate progress – gaining the best education and experience possible
● Putting in place effective leadership and holding the Strategic Central Team (SCT) to account
The successful candidates will:
• Have a background in education
• Is committed to the MAT model of school improvement and governance
• Is a champion of inclusion and the removal of barriers

All paid positions which involve working regularly within academies are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You must declare all convictions (including convictions with Absolute Discharge), cautions or bind-overs you may have, even if they would otherwise be regarded as ‘Spent’ under this Act and where applicable any disqualifications under the Childcare Act.
The amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are ‘protected’ and are not subject to disclosure to employers, and cannot be taken into account. This role involves working with children on a daily basis and is therefore in regulated activity.
