Crowdys Hill is a dynamic and forward-thinking all-through special school for pupils with moderate learning difficulties and complex needs from across the Borough of Swindon. Our pupils range from 4 to 19 years of age.
We are looking for a passionate, creative trainee therapist to volunteer with us.
This role will give you the opportunity to work as part of a team delivering mental health support to young people with learning difficulties. It will need someone who is creative, innovative and to be flexible with their approach.
Play, Art or Drama therapists would be preferred however volunteers with level 4 trainee with fitness to practice or above are more than welcome to apply.
We are looking for you to work with young people for 3-6 hours per week. We can be flexible on the days but would need to be between the hours 9am-3pm term time.
In your placement you will be offered supervision every 2 weeks and an opportunity to join in with our in school professional development. You will have a qualified counsellor as a mentor and an opportunity to have regular meetings to share concerns and gain support if needed.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain insight to working in Special Educational Needs and train in more specialist areas for future development in your counselling career.
