Overview

Dundonald Primary School was opened in 1894. Part of the school still occupies the original Victorian building which has been extended three times, in 1904, 1995 and 2016. The buildings have been adapted for contemporary needs and are very well-resourced. The school is surrounded on three sides by Dundonald Park, a space regularly used by the school.

Mission Statement: Our school community will provide a caring, safe and supportive environment where everyone is encouraged to be creative, challenged and happy in their work and play, and where the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) are respected and valued by all.

About Us

The curriculum is designed and implemented to fulfil and exceed legislative requirements and to encourage and enable each child to reach the highest level of personal achievement. At Dundonald teaching and learning programmes are designed to meet the needs of each child at a level appropriate to their understanding and capability.

Our school ethos is based on encouraging pupils to develop their personal, emotional and learning skills to the highest possible standard. We try to ensure that all pupils feel that they are valued members of the school community, enjoy good self-esteem and learn to resolve problems themselves.
