About Us

Lakeside Primary School community, a two-form entry primary school has its own Nursery, 'The Ducklings' which caters for children from 3 - 11 years old. The children are at the heart of the Lakeside community and, as a school, we actively promote an environment where each child is valued, nurtured and guided in preparation for the challenges ahead. We aim  for them to achieve their full potential through a creative, broad and enriched curriculum.

We are fortunate to have excellent amenities and extensive, well-maintained grounds, which are used to their maximum potential for the benefit of our children's education. We believe that the education of our children is a shared responsibility between home and school. We work in close partnership with parents to ensure that our children have a positive and rewarding journey throughout their time at Lakeside. We actively encourage parental involvement in our school and this helps to create an environment where the children feel happy, confident and secure. We are indebted to our supportive parents.

We are proud of both our academic achievements and the extra-curricular opportunities which we offer to the children. Every child deserves an equal chance to reach their potential and to make a valuable contribution to their community. Together with the dedicated staff team and supportive Governing Body, we are committed to making this happen.

Working for Us

A regular supply teacher:

" I always feel welcome and valued at Lakeside ~ being thanked at the end of the day means a lot. I very much enjoy working at Lakeside. Discipline is good and if I do have a problem I have support to deal with it.  All the work is left for me, instructions are easy to follow and everyone is very supportive and helpful".

A recent NQT:

"This is a friendly and supportive school, with a nurturing style.  I was mentored by the Deputy Head and given lots of support and had regular meetings.  There are plenty of CPD opportunities.  The children are lovely too!"

An experienced Teaching Assistant:

"I've been with the school for over ten years, and really enjoy coming to work.  I started off as a mid day supervisor and successfully gained my NVQ2 and 3 here and now work as an advanced TA.  The work can be challenging, and everyday is different."

Little Ducklings Nursery

THE LITTLE DUCKLINGS NURSERY is one of our greatest assets. We stimulate our children’s natural curiosity, nurture their capacity to learn and enable them to form relationships and to express themselves as individuals.

The Nursery offers 15 hours free childcare for 3 year olds taken either as Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday morning, or Wednesday afternoon, Thursday, and Friday.  Some free spaces are also available for 2 year olds under the FEET scheme.  The Nursery has highly qualified staff, and has its own separate and secure outdoor area.
