St Augustine's Catholic Primary School is a Voluntary Aided Catholic school in the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton an academy school in the Xavier Catholic Education Trust. There are 420 children on the school roll aged 4 to 11.
St. Augustine's was formed from the amalgamation of St. Gregory's Infant School and St. Tarcisius' Junior School in 1996.
St. Tarcisius' was established in Camberley in 1874. The Valroy Close site was in use from 1961 to 1996. In 1971 the nature of the school changed when it became a Middle School and the younger children moved to St. Gregory's First School. In 1994 it became a Junior school in line with Surrey re-organisation.
St. Gregory's opened in September 1971 on the site of the old Yorktown Primary School. When the County reorganised its education system St. Gregory's was established to teach the five to eight year olds. In 1994 Surrey again reorganised and St. Gregory's became an Infant School. The main building dates from the 1870's and other buildings were added to the site in 1889 and 1906. Two portakabins were erected in 1972.
The Diocese of Arundel and Brighton had long standing plans to relocate both schools on a new site to provide a two form entry R.C. Primary School for 4 to 11 year olds. This resulted in the construction of the present building on a new site.
In November 1996 the staff and pupils transferred to this new purpose built Primary School in Tomlinscote Way, Frimley. In 2010 our new purpose built Arts Block was opened by Bishop Kieran.
