Continuing Professional Development
Tavistock College is extremely proud of the Continuing Professional Development programme it provides. Staff members receive approximately 18 hours of CPD within the academic year, in addition to any external courses they may attend. Our innovative system ensures that staff are both supported and challenged to drive improvement in teaching and learning. We have a real commitment to research and actively encourage staff to get involved. Our partners, the University of St Mark and St John and Plymouth University have SLAs with us so that staff can work towards post-graduate qualifications, and we operate an action research approach to all CPD.
Free car parking is available on the college premises. Spaces are on a first come first served basis.
We operate a Biometric cashless catering system in our refectory so you will need to be registered for this once you join the staff. Hot and cold meals are served at lunchtime and snacks are available at break time.
Employees are welcome to borrow books and other resources from the Library. A Biometric scanning system is in use in the Library for this purpose.
The cost of periodic eye examinations for frequent users of Display Screen Equipment is covered in the form of a voucher available in consultations with the Premises Manager. We do not pay towards the cost of glasses should they be deemed necessary for every day work.
Employees are eligible to use the sports centre after school hours and at weekend and in the holidays.
