Carrington Primary School is a popular school situated on the north side of Nottingham City Centre. The catchment area encompasses both Carrington and Mapperley Park but we also attract children from other areas of the city due to our high standards and family atmosphere. Carrington School is a very vibrant school which has an exceptionally diverse intake of pupils from different social and cultural backgrounds. Approximately half our children are from ethnic minorities and 14% of our intake takes free school meals.
The school has a positive policy of equal opportunity and both standards and expectations are high. We work hard to provide a rich curriculum, carefully differentiated to meet the needs of our community. Educational visits and visitors are encouraged and all Key Stage Two classes take part in a residential visit each year. There are also a wide range extra curricula activities particularly sports and music. We enjoy very good relationships with parents and members of the local community, who take part in a wide range of fund-raising activities and social events. The pupils are well motivated and polite and the school has a welcoming atmosphere.
