Hazel is a 2-form entry inner-city primary school. We have 2 classes in every year group from Reception to Year 6. We are a very diverse and inclusive school, with over 36 different languages being spoken by children and families in our school community.

Our parents and families are supportive of the school and we have positive and committed governors who are keen to see Hazel children continue to succeed.

We were graded as Good by Ofsted in October 2021 and we continue to offer a broad and balanced curriculum to all our children.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and this can be arranged by contacting the school office. We are situated in the centre of Leicester, very close to Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester Tigers RFC and Leicester City FC. Our school is easily accessible by bus, train, bicycle or car.

Hazel is a great place to work! Our children are special – they’re lively, motivated to learn, full of fun and enjoy school. They come from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures bringing with them many of the challenges and joys of a modern, well established multicultural city in the heart of England. Our staff are special too - some have a long association with the school - others have joined the team in recent years, but all are committed to the children succeeding.
