Overview

We are fortunate in having an excellent team of staff who all care for the children as if they were their own. There is a genuine concern that every child feels safe, valued and happy in school. Only then can they learn. The emphasis is on excellence, excitement and challenge. Children are encouraged to become independent, creative learners who also respect and care for others.

We welcome and celebrate the diverse beliefs and backgrounds of the children and ensure that developing their understanding of these is an implicit part of the everyday life of the school. The children are well behaved and have a positive attitude to learning. Visitors often comment on the calm atmosphere around school and children say they feel safe and enjoy being in school. Staff tend to remain with us, with a number of teachers having started as NQTs, some of whom are now on the Leadership Team.

About Us

Hope Hamilton was established in 2004 to serve the then new North Hamilton estate. It has since grown to around 400 pupils and 60 staff.

The school has been consistently rated GOOD by Ofsted and OUTSTANDING by SIAMs, but we are constantly striving to improve and to offer the children the best possible provision through exciting curriculum work and a genuine concern and care for every individual child.

The school serves a diverse community and children come from a range of ethnic, religious and social backgrounds. This enables children to learn to understand differences and to develop relationships with children around them, irrespective of backgrounds.

The curriculum is topic based, with themes being shared across the school. We value opportunities for children to mix across age ranges as often as possible such as on visits, at play times and during university afternoons each week, when children have the chance to choose from a range of activities from the wider curriculum.
