Overview

Sherwood Park is a school for learners aged between 3 and 19 years that have Severe Learning Needs (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and especially for those who in addition are on the Autistic Spectrum (ASD) and Complex Needs.

In Summer 2016 we expanded across two sites to meet the ever growing numbers of pupils whose parents want them to attend this school and is will be located on sites approximately two miles apart.

Sherwood Park Campus

The campus based in Streeters Lane, is a single-storey building situated at the east side of the London Borough of Sutton, adjacent to the Historic Carew Manor, on the edge of Beddington Park. The whole site offers a modern, purpose-built environment with grounds that are in keeping with the local surroundings.

It caters for children aged between 3 and 19 years that have Severe Learning Needs (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and children aged 3- 11 who in addition are on the Autistic Spectrum (ASD) and Complex Needs.

In order for our learners to achieve aspirational outcomes our facilities include sensory and soft play rooms, hydro swimming pool, spa pool, specialist recreation areas including a discovery forest and outside learning environment.

Sherwood Hill Campus - New

The new campus, which opened in June 2016, located in Stanley Park Road, is a three storey Secondary School which has been specifically designed and built for learners aged 11 – 19 (Key Stage 3-5) who have as their primary learning need Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with Complex Needs/Severe Learning Disabilities.

We have been working closely with the Local Authority and the architects to plan and design a purpose built inspirational learning environment to meet the needs of those learners co-located on a shared site with Oakfield – Primary ASD provision and Woodfield Primary School – both new to the site.

We hope the new campus will be a vibrant, inspirational learning place designed specifically to meet the very special needs of learners with ASD. In order for them to achieve aspirational outcomes our facilities will include low arousal classrooms with 1.1 work rooms, sensory room, gym for OT and sensory circuits, spa pool, therapy room, art/ D/T room, Life skills area, specialist recreation areas including a Muga and bike track and outside learning environment.
