Welcome to Freeman’s Endowed Church of England Junior Academy, as Principal it is a privilege to give you an insight into the fantastic experiences and adventures that our children will encounter during their time with us.
At Freeman’s we aim to create strong, positive relationships and partnerships with every member of our community, staff, Governors, parents/carers and children. Our ethos is centred around our six Christian Values: Faith, Aspirations, Resilience, Forgiveness, Respect and Honesty.
We strive to create a learning environment that will inspire, motivate, stimulate and encourage our children through their own learning journey, a place where children can spread their wings and fly, having the opportunities to strive to be the best that they can be.
Our ethos: This is a school where its Christian vision and values are firmly set, the staff and children live by our values and thereby shapes the development of our children both academically and personally. Respect for all within the school community is paramount.
The Academy has many strengths that make it not only a fantastic place to learn but also an enjoyable and fulfilling place to work.
Academy strengths include
Leadership and Management:There is a strong culture of aspiration across the school. This is exemplified by the principal who provides strong and determined leadership. She sets high expectations for both staff and pupils. Leaders know the strengths and areas for development within the school well. (Ofsted 2017)
Teaching and Learning: Teachers and teaching assistants work effectively together to ensure that all groups of pupils make at least good progress. This is particularly evident in their work with pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Interventions by staff are timely and well focused on pupils’ learning needs. They promote pupils’ independence and ensure that they make good progress. (Ofsted 2017)
Our behaviour: Behaviour is good. Relationships around school are excellent; pupils and adults treat one another with respect. (Ofsted 2017)
