Overview

Children are at the heart of all we do, we are committed to achieving our best and providing a high quality education for all. We believe that children learn best when they feel safe, valued and are happy to come to school. We have high expectations of all pupils in terms of academic achievements, creative development and behaviour. We aim to give our children the skills to become confident and independent learners, to love learning. We encourage them to respect others and their environment.

We provide our children with a school that is stimulating, colourful and well cared for and we provide a curriculum that is thoughtfully planned. Staff at Langshott Primary School are committed to working together. Teamwork is a strong feature of the school and this includes our parents. We believe that children succeed best when parents and the school work together. We encourage parents to help both in the classroom and with other activities.

About Us

Langshott Primary School is a successful Local Authority Primary  school with 420 pupils from Reception to Year 6. We are proud to be oversubscribed with first choice applicants year on year.  Langshott Primary School opened in 1985 as an infant school and expanded to be a Primary school in 2014.  It is located to the east of Horley town centre, approximately two miles from Gatwick Airport.

Pupils come from a range of home backgrounds. The very large majority of families are very supportive of the school and their child's learning. This is reflected in high levels of participation in school events, the support of home learning, good attendance and regular feedback.

The classrooms are well maintained, bright and appealing. In addition, we have a well stocked library, a multifunction hall and several group rooms for breakout work.We have a large open play area with beautiful grounds, play equipment and playing fields that include an environmental pond and woodland.

The Reception classes have their own safe and secure outside area for learning and play. Children, including the able child and those with special educational needs, are taught as a whole class, often in small groups, and also as individuals. Learning is carefully differentiated to provide all children with appropriate challenging situations according to their age and stage of development. Teaching assistants are well trained to support the children’s learning. Langshott is an extended school operating a popular Breakfast and After School club.

We are very proud of our school and the learning that happens here. If you would like any further information or would like to visit, please contact us.
