Vice Principal(Lead for T&L and raising standards at KS3)Salary: L20 - L24Start Date: September 2017The Winsford Academy is a co-educational secondary school and part of a multi-academy trust. It is a fully inclusive comprehensive school which was established by the amalgamation of two predecessor schools. The school operates from a purpose built £20M site which opened in September 2013. After four years of transition with a significant programme of rightsizing and budget rebalancing, the Governors, staff and sponsor have created a stable school with much improved outcomes. We are looking for new leader with passion, drive and energy following the promotion of the current Vice Principal to headship in another school. The challenge now is to continue to develop the school to the level of academic achievement and attainment that its pupils deserve. The school is currently rated as GOOD by Ofsted following a recent inspection in May 2016. The Academy aspires to become a focal point for the economic and cultural regeneration of Winsford and you will find a deeply committed community and parents that will respond enthusiastically to the opportunities your leadership will bring. The successful candidate will:• Be a charismatic leader with the ability to develop the teaching body.• Be passionate and knowledgeable about the power of teaching to improve learning, with experience of leading aspects of teaching and learning at strategic level.• Have the ability and courage to drive improvements with individual teachers and to create and drive a coherent school strategy.• Have excellent organisational, management, ICT and interpersonal skills.• Be an exceptional Vice Principal/Assistant Principal/Assistant Head or in a current role as a senior teacher.• Be looking to secure their own headship within five years.• Demonstrate evidence of school improvement, raising outcomes and a commitment to high standards.• Ideally will have been instrumental in, or been part of, a senior leadership team that has driven a school from ‘good’ to ‘outstanding.’• Be financially literate. • Have a track record of building relationships with feeder primary schools and the wider community to drive pupil numbers. • Demonstrate successful engagement with parents and the community. • Have a collaborative leadership style and works consultatively with senior leaders and teaching staff.• Have a strong sense of moral purpose, a focus on pupil needs and the ability to assess the impact of teaching standards on student learning.
