TEACHER OF HISTORY - TPR
Required from September 2017 or earlier if available.
Imagine what’s possible…
The History Department at Newton Abbot College is at a very exciting stage in its development. Recent data would suggest that outcomes for young people have not been as positive in History as they have been in many other ‘core’ subjects. However, looking forward, the projected data for student outcomes in History at Key Stages 4 and 5 shows an increasingly positive trajectory. We are very excited by the improvements already made since the new Subject Team Leader joined us in 2015 and this post represents an exciting opportunity for a History specialist to become part of the new History team as we brighten the future of History.
The department is supported by the Governors and the College Leadership Team in its priority status on the College Improvement Plan.
We are seeking an outstanding individual with drive, passion, enthusiasm and ambition to join our History Department in the next phase of its development and beyond. Your challenge will be to teach outstanding and interactive lessons, leading to high levels of student progress.
- an inspirational and forward thinking classroom practitioner
- able to deliver outstanding History lessons up to A Level
- committed to raising standards
- creative, conscientious and enthusiastic?
- be able to enthuse and motivate all students
- have incredibly high expectations
- demonstrate excellent planning, communication and organisational skills
- be an excellent team player
- believe that all students are capable of success.
If you think you can make a difference to our students and relish the idea of joining our successful, supportive and highly motivated team in the delivery of outstanding education, then we want to hear from you!
