The role: An established British Curriculum School in Kuwait is seeking a History specialist to deliver high quality teaching and learning to a multinational student population. As this is a girls school, only female candidates will be considered.Responsible to: Head of Department, Head of Secondary, PrincipalResponsible for: Teaching history up to IGCSE to classes of students, performing form tutor tasks and contributing to the overall school results through teamwork and cooperation.Start Date: January 2017 or as soon as possibleRemuneration: Minimum salary of 900KD tax-free per month (approx. £2300) School provided 1 bedroom , fully-furnished apartment. Rent and Utilities (Electricity and water covered) Medical insurance Annual return flightsThe School: This small, family school adopts a positive and personalised approach to learning undertaken by our cohort of educationalists who encourage the students to develop a love of learning and a desire to excel in their fulfillment of their academic potential. The curriculum and methodology used is based on the requirements of the National Curriculum for England and Wales, with some modifications recognizing the location of the school in the Middle East.All subjects are taught following the guidelines of the National Curriculum, and at the end of Year 9 students will all sit the Key Stage 3 National Curriculum Tests in English. Mathematics and Coordinated Science. In Year 10 and Year 11, the students follow a curriculum based on a number of 'core' subjects and some 'optional' subjects. Students will work towards their IGCSE exams which is the culmination of two years study.
