Overview

Thames Ditton Junior School is a large school that takes most of its pupils from one feeder infant (Thames Ditton Infants), and sends the majority on to the local secondary (Hinchley Wood School), but also to a variety of local selective and independent schools.  We value academic achievement, but not at the expense of offering a varied and stimulating curriculum that develops the whole child.  We are a values-based school (respect, honesty, co-operation, kindness, determination and responsibility) and we insist that every member of the school community demonstrates those values, so that our children feel safe, valued and enthusiastic about their learning. Our site includes a specialist centre for children with learning and additional needs: these children have a ‘home’ class and are included in school trips, outings and wider school activities.

About Us

We have excellent facilities at the school, including an Astroturf pitch, tennis/multi-use courts, an IT suite, a well-stocked library, on-site catering facilities, car parking and lovely grounds that offer opportunities for outdoor learning and relaxation. Thames Ditton is a very green area, close to London but with a village feel, with good connections by train and road, and we are close to the River Thames and to historic Hampton Court Palace. We offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities, working with outside agencies as well as offering teacher-led clubs. We are particularly successful in our sporting endeavours, regularly winning the District athletics cup, and also having competitive football, netball, rugby and cricket teams.

Thames Ditton Junior School is part of the Hinchley Wood Learning Partnership, a small multi-academy trust which also includes Hinchley Wood School and Hinchley Wood Primary School.
