Overview

Our motto is ‘believe and achieve’ and throughout school life we aim for all students, staff and parents to work together to ensure that we excel in all we do, respect each other, welcome opportunities, enjoy challenges and celebrate success. I believe that through learning, all children have the power to shape their own lives and we work hard to develop attributes that will allow our students to adapt in a rapidly changing world, to succeed in competitive environments and to value the qualities that make good citizens.

Student achievement will always be at the top of our agenda.  Without doubt, good exam results open doors, change lives and empower children to achieve their dreams.  However, I also believe in a well-rounded education and the benefits of extra-curricular activities.  We promote competition and co-operation through a huge programme of enrichment opportunities and as well as being the only co-educational Science academy in the area, we excel in creative arts, technology and sports.

Welcome to Blenheim High School

More About Us

Blenheim is a dynamic, exciting and supportive environment in which to work. The school opened in September 1997 with one year group and has grown to its current size of approximately 1370 students on roll including over 200 in the Sixth Form.

Blenheim is a mixed comprehensive and our reputation in the community is excellent and as a result the school is very popular. The intake comprises of students from all areas surrounding the school and ability levels and the cultural blend is varied. Candidates should be entirely committed to the comprehensive ideal of education.

All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and we work hard to provide a stimulating environment in which to learn. We have recently launched an iPad for Learning Scheme under which all students in Year 9 and Year 10 have access to an iPad which they take with them between lessons. All teaching staff have a personal iPad. By September, 2014, all students in Year 7-11 will have access to an iPad and therefore staff need to be willing and committed to using technology as a tool for learning. Visitors to the school constantly remark on the calm, purposeful learning ethos that they observe. We have achieved very good examination results which are continually improving and well above the national average in most cases.
