Overview

We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on!

Our Vision is:

To be an inclusive school where everyone is encouraged to fulfil their potential, discover new talents and develop a love for learning.

We have 3 school aims:

1. To ensure our children are happy, safe and secure.

2. To raise standards by having high expectations of the teaching and learning in our school

3. To encourage all children to be polite, well behaved and to take responsibility for their actions

Our school has 7 core values:

Achieve excellence – “Be the best you can be.”

Work, play and have fun with others – “Collaborate as a family”

Embrace diversity – “Be proud of who we are and where we come from”

Show respect – “Everyone is different but everyone is equal”

Overcome obstacles – “Show resilience and challenge yourself”

Make memories – “Be inspired and follow your passions”

Enjoy the journey – “Love learning for a lifetime”

Let's be A.W.E.S.O.M.E at Claremont.

Claremont School is about a mile north from Nottingham’s city centre on the border of Forest Fields and Sherwood district of the city. Many of the children travel from a wider area to the school. It is over 130 years since the first Claremont children started to make their way in the world. Many things have changed since those days of gas lighting and wooden desks. The school has undergone a thorough modernisation in recent years and children and staff now enjoy a calm and attractive working environment.

About Us

Our aim is to:

  • provide all our pupils with a fully inclusive, structured and disciplined framework - one where success is celebrated and challenges are set and met and where children are encouraged to explore opportunities creatively.
  • continually improve standards of teaching and learning focusing upon literacy, numeracy, and scientific investigation and developing pupils' ability to use ICT tools effectively.
  • provide innovative, creative and challenging teaching.
  • provide a broad and balanced curriculum that provides variety and equal opportunity for all pupils, allowing individuals to develop progressively and at their own rate.
  • provide planned educational opportunities that teach pupils about responsible behaviour in order that they will mature into people who will make valuable contributions to our diverse and multicultural world and the environment we are to live in.
  • involve parents and community in the daily life of the school to achieve common goals through partnership.
  • offer all staff and others involved with school the opportunity to continually develop their own skills, knowledge and understanding in order to meet both the school and their own needs.
