Overview

Montpelier School is an established and highly successful school, situated in central Ealing. Our constant aim is to enable a stimulating, challenging and creative learning environment, where opportunities for extending children’s learning can be harnessed and developed.

We have high expectations of our children and ourselves, where our learning community can thrive and excel in all areas of school life. We are committed to developing the wider curriculum so sport and physical development, music and languages all have a high profile. With exemplary teaching, our children often perform and progress exceptionally in both English and mathematics. We make strong links across the curriculum so that learning and understanding grow alongside the gaining of knowledge.

Achievement is outstanding because pupils’ attainment is well-above average and the pupils make excellent progress in their learning at all stages of their education. They also progress very well in areas other than the strictly academic, in their social, moral, spiritual, and cultural development, in their enthusiastic take up of the school’s many extra-curricular activities, and in their development as mature, reflective and articulate young people.

At Montpelier the quality of education rests upon both outstanding teaching and learning that encourages participation, questioning and self-assessment. At its heart, our inclusive curriculum is enjoyable and adapted to suit interest.

Local Area

The borough of Ealing is a fantastic place in which to live and work. Located in the heart of West London it comprises seven districts - Ealing, Southall, Hanwell, Acton, Northolt, Perivale and Greenford. Each of these areas has unique characteristics, and together they form one of the most vibrant and diverse communities in Britain.

Living in Ealing provides the best of both worlds. It is within easy reach of central London as well as providing easy access to the towns and countryside of the South East and beyond. An excellent place to live in its own right. Ealing has thriving arts and leisure facilities and more than eight square kilometres of parks and green spaces. As one of London's busiest boroughs, there are all the recreational facilities you would expect in a lively metropolitan centre, with museums, a local theatre, cinemas, galleries and an eclectic mix of restaurants and bars to choose from.

Montpelier Park

The current site of Montpelier Park once belonged to one of the leading public girls' schools in the country. It was called Princess Helena College and was opened by the Prince of Wales (the future King Edward VII) in July 1882. Today the wood stands on what were once the college’s sports pitches.  The park is situated beside Montpelier Primary School and it is a wonderful natural resource and enriches the children's experience of the outdoors.
