Overview

Wyke Primary School is situated on the outskirts of Normandy villagewhich lies between Aldershot and Guildford. We welcome childrenfrom the local community and from the surrounding areas.The school is set in attractive grounds, surrounded by trees and woodland.

There is a large playground and playing field, providing good facilities for gamesand PE activities for our children.The outside environment has a reflective garden designed by the children and developed with the support of parents. There is a pond and environmental areaand exciting, challenging playground apparatus which was chosen by the children.The original Victorian school was built in 1876; we have the log books of this timewhich are used by our children when they study the Victorian era. In theintervening years a lot of building work has taken place so that today we have arange of buildings providing spacious classrooms; a bright, large hall; a wellequipped computer suite; a well planned library and a kitchen area.

Our Reception Class is in a self contained, well resourced building that provides aspacious, stimulating, learning environment, with a range of working and roleplay areas. Outside there is a covered area for outdoor activities, a trim trail, aclimbing wall, a grassy open space, a large playground area and access to thewoodlands next to the building. All of this is essential for children at this stage oftheir education.We provide a broad, balanced and creative curriculum designed to motivate andinterest our children. Children leave our school confident, self assured and with apositive attitude towards learning, enabling them to move confidently, sociallyand academically, onto the next stage of their education

About Us

- As a primary school we have an intake of children from 4 to 11

- We are a one form entry school (one class in each year), with a maximum of 30 children in each class.

- As an Academy, part of the Kite Academy Trust we adhere to Surrey Education Committee’s admissions criteria.

- We feed a number of local schools including: Ash Manor, King’s College, Guildford, Guildford County and Christ’s College, Guildford.

- Children come to us from a range of nurseries and pre-schools including: St Mark’s, Little Fishes, Sunflowers and Happy Days.

- We have a range of buildings providing spacious classrooms; a bright, large hall; a well equipped computer suite; a well planned library and kitchen area.

- Our Reception class is in a self contained, well resourced building that provides a spacious, stimulating, learning environment.

- We are set in attractive grounds with a large field and playing area (with exciting challenging playground apparatus), a reflective garden, a pond and environmental area.
