Police checks – urgent!

If you have worked outside of the UK in the last 5 years for 3 months or more you must now provide a police check from that country. These are much more difficult to obtain retrospectively once you have reached the UK which is why we HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you do not leave the country you are in until you have got your police check. Overseas checks can take weeks or months to obtain once you have left the country and some countries require fingerprints to be submitted at an embassy.  You can visit the police in person or apply to the embassy. Only a few countries will not provide you with a police check, in which situation you can obtain an additional character and behaviour reference from your existing employer.
