Arbour Vale School is a large special school situated on the outskirts of Slough, very close to the countryside and the Buckinghamshire border. We cater for pupils between the ages of 3 to 19 year olds with a broad range of special educational needs.
OUR VALUES AND ETHOS
Our aim is to enable every child to fulfil their full potential. We recognise that every child has unique and special needs that require individualisation, imagination and enthusiasm to ensure success.
We learn together with our pupils the best ways to develop the skills, knowledge and attributes they will need as young adults. We recognise that many of our pupils need a specialised approach to their learning and development and this is encompassed in the personalised approach we adopt for every pupil. The development of good practice and professional development has extended our expertise to meet the needs of a broad range of pupils.
A year 9 pupil summarised our approach to learning as:
- Flexible - lots of ways to do things
- Friendly and understanding - they help us in the best way they can
- A better chance to learn
- More trust and lots of opportunities
- You get to do a wide range of different, fun things
Our aim is to provide an inclusive vibrant school where your child can fulfil their potential, grow in confidence and above all, be happy. We have designed the website to give you a picture of how we meet this aim.
We are very proud of the successes of our pupils and of our involvement in local and national events.
