Overview

Avondale Park School is a large primary school serving a multi-ethnic community in the heart of North Kensington and since September 2014 we have been federated with St Anne’s Nursery School.

At Avondale Park School we have two classes in each year group, with about 25 children per class. There are 26 teaching staff including the Head and Deputy Headteacher and 41 non teaching staff. We pride ourselves as teachers on aiming continually to develop and improve our teaching in order to make learning accessible and exciting for all pupils.

We are fortunate to have lots of space with excellent facilities, including 2 computer suites, interactive whiteboards in each classroom, two sports halls, and developing playgrounds.

We are an inclusive school encouraging the academic, social and personal development of every child in a welcoming and secure environment. Visitors are always struck by the friendly but hardworking atmosphere created by staff and pupils and indeed, Ofsted commented on this.

As your child’s first teacher, you will be aware of your child's needs, strengths and weaknesses and we hope to build upon that experience through a strong home – school partnership. We are happy to discuss our approach to education with parents and hope that they will continue to be involved in their children’s education throughout their school career.

AboutUs

The Staff and Governors share a vision that:

•  Appropriate challenge and support is given to all children so that they achieve the best that they possibly can - emotionally and academically

•  Current high academic standards and progress at the end of KS2 are maintained and we continue to improve progress in the core areas of Reading, Writing, Maths and Science across the school

•  There is a culture of developing skills for life , promoting a healthy, active lifestyle and education through the curriculum and extended school day

•  There is excellent communication enabling parents to support and celebrate their children’s learning

Our Aim is that all children in our community receive:

• The highest quality teaching

• A creative and stimulating learning environment

• An ambitious, exciting and fun curriculum

• A safe and caring place in which learning is aspirational and of highquality

• A welcoming atmosphere with positive relationships whereeveryone is valued

Our Vision

Dream, Believe, Achieve

We have recently revised our key aims and values for the school and through our discussions, the following words emerged as our ‘motto.’

We would like every child to have a dream, aspiring to leave our school with the skills, knowledge and experience to support them through their secondary school and beyond. We recognise that a dream is never realised if the individual does not believe that it can come true; and so we aim to inspire belief and confidence in every child so that each believes he or she can achieve great things. The last word, achievement, reflects our drive for every pupil to achieve the best possible outcomes- not only academically but also as a young person in our community.
