Overview

Beacon Hill is a friendly, successful mixed single form entry village primary school, with an emphasis on friendly, family learning.  It ensures a stimulating and supportive environment in which all children have the opportunity to develop their unique talents.  There are currently 205 pupils on roll, as there is a bulge class in Year 6.  The learning environment for the children in Year R and Year 1 is in a separate house and outdoor learning area known as Browns, which is set in beautiful woodland near to the main school.  The main school building houses Years 2 to 6 and the excellent facilities include changing rooms, a library, large music room and children's kitchen. There is also a large hall and an art room.  The school provides wrap-around care from 7.45 am to 6.00 pm with a breakfast and after school club every day, and there are a number of clubs for pupils to join after school.

About Us

Our school offers a vibrant curriculum and excellent learning opportunities through well planned, focused teaching incorporating visits, use of our exceptional outdoor surroundings, sports field, after school clubs and outstanding musical provision. Displays are lively and inter-active, and they contribute to the positive ethos of the school and celebrate the high quality of the children’s learning. We are committed to ensuring that all children have equal access to the whole curriculum and are given equal opportunities to develop to their full potential in a safe and secure environment in partnership with parents and carers. As part of that commitment we have a home/school link worker, who is in school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays offering support to children and parents. We have close relationships with the local nursery and secondary schools and we welcome every opportunity for parents and members of the local community to be involved in our children’s learning.  We are part of an active Confederation of local schools and work together and share resources, hold joint sporting events and ensure a smooth transition to our pupils' secondary schools in the locality.

Working for Us

If you're searching for your next teaching or support staff post, why not contact us now? You'll be working at a great school and be part of a friendly, helpful team. We're always interested to hear from enthusiastic, committed applicants - send us your CV now via our School Talent Pool and say what sort of role you're looking for.

We have a wonderful working environment in the centre of the village of Beacon Hill.

We are working hard to improve our outdoor provision in the large amount of woodland that we have at the school.

We are a very friendly, caring team and are part of the village community participating in local events when they happen.  Staff also arrange their own social events, and INSET days are well structured and often involve all staff.

We offer extensive benefits through the Surrey Reward Scheme ranging from a car leasing scheme, a cycle to work scheme, child care vouchers, shopping and cinema discounts to name a few.   Breakfast and after school care is available to all staff whose children attend the school.  All employees have free access to an employees assistance and well-being scheme and occupational health.  Health screening is provided.  Staff meals are available at lunch times, and there is plenty of on-site parking.   All staff are provided with laptops and classrooms are well-equipped with IT equipment.  There are free refreshments for all staff.

We are located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, surrounded by National Trust land, but 5 minutes from the A3 network to the M25, London and Portsmouth.

We can advise on moving to the area and places to live, but for most staff the commute to, and from, the school is relatively easy from surrounding locations.  By joining our School Talent Pool we'll know you're interested in working here when a future vacancy occurs.
