“At Beechcroft our abilities are encouraged, our strengths are recognised and our weaknesses supported.”
The ethos of the school underpins everything that takes place in the School. This includes the way children behave towards each other, and adults, and the way in which property is cared for and valued. It is the schools broad aim that the children should learn to be kind and tolerant of others and that they should enjoy school life.
The school is concerned with the highest possible personal development of each individual pupil, intellectually, morally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. The school aims to provide a stimulating, caring, stable environment in order that the children gain independence, the ability to reason and think for themselves and a willingness to tackle tasks with confidence.
The Foundation aged children have a curriculum which has been specifically written to take account of their needs. The School makes provision for, and follows the National Curriculum with children of statutory school age. Provision is made for every child to follow the curriculum at their own level and work is carefully differentiated to meet the needs of all children including children with Special Educational Needs and Gifted and Talented children.
