A Note from the Head

Beeston Fields Primary and Nursery school is a happy school where children are taught in a caring environment and are encouraged to achieve to the very best of their ability. We provide a rich curriculum which aims to develop each child’s potential to the full. We promote excitement, enjoyment and an enthusiasm for learning.

We truly believe that working with parents is essential and we foster an open relationship between home and school. Whilst your child is here with us you will have many opportunities to share in their education and celebrate their achievements.

We offer a wide range of balanced learning opportunities to help your child to grow into a responsible and independent young person. We have spacious facilities at school to further support the work of our friendly, committed and enthusiastic staff.

We provide much more than the National Curriculum here at Beeston Fields. We invite workshops, theatre companies and musicians into school and take pupils out of school on educational visits to explore the local community around them.

Please contact the school office to arrange a visit; you will be made very welcome by all our pupils and staff.

A Bit About Us

Beeston Fields Primary school was originally built in 1931 and began as two schools, an Infant and Junior. These amalgamated in April 2001 to form the new school of Beeston Fields Primary and Nursery School and in September 2015 we became an academy joining the Flying High Trust Partnership.

We have a purpose built Foundation Stage Unit where both F1 and F2 children play and learn. Main school has two classes per year group, each classroom is well resourced and includes interactive whiteboards to engage the children in their learning. Our period building has many small areas to allow 1 to 1 and small group activities to take place away from the distractions of the main classroom; each Key Stage has a 'hub' with resources appropriate to their age ranges.

Our two halls provide us space for our assemblies, physical education, dining, clubs, performances and other community events. Our bright school library provides an attractive space for the children to foster a love of books and reading. We are pleased that with regular investment we are able to provide lots of engaging and interesting books.

We are also very fortunate with our outdoor space. We have a large astroturf pitch which allows for all year round use as well as a playground and trim trail with grassed area. The Foundation Stage has its own outdoor space allowing our younger children a quieter place to play and learn.

The Flying High Trust is a primary schools’ multi-academy trust which was founded in June 2012 on the success of the Cotgrave Candleby Lane Primary School (the original trust member).

The ethos behind the Trust is one of sustainable school improvement; and schools joining the Trust do so with the prime aim of improving each other so that they can all become outstanding schools.

All schools within the Trust have access to the professional expertise and development opportunities offered by the Candleby Lane Teaching School Alliance which comprises over 40 primary schools. This ever growing alliance also ensures that Trust partners have access to bespoke leadership development opportunities, as the alliance has been awarded the National College licence for leadership programme delivery across the East Midlands.
