About Us

Snowdon Village City School is one of the range of Alternative Learning Provisions within the Cabot Learning federation. We offer a truly bespoke package to students aged 14-16 who have not been successful in mainstream schools. Building on the strengths of our students, we tailor the curriculum and use our HQ as a base to deliver academic and vocational qualifications and, crucially, use the city as our classroom. Students are able to access the range of resource available in our vibrant and diverse city to enhance and develop their knowledge, skills and understanding, equipping them for the next steps in their lives. We operate from three sites strategic placed around the city, so that students have access to quality, appropriate education within a short distance from home.

The Nest

The NEST is a re- engagement nurture based provision for primary aged pupils (5-11 years), who are struggling with mainstream school, due to social emotional and/or mental health problems.

It also can provide support for children with difficult home environments, children in care, adopted children or children who have experienced emotional trauma and are in need of some time to build their emotional resilience in order to cope with life at school.

Engage

The CLF Engage provision is an educational engagement project which serves the CLF Secondary schools. Currently based on site at Ever green Primary School Bristol.

Engage offers short and medium term placements to students who are struggling to thrive in mainstream settings and who need the opportunity to re-set and re-engage.

We currently offer a part time placement for year 11,working alongside schools, colleges and businesses for work experience, to form a tailored package for individual students to support them in reaching their full potential.

Bristol Futures

Bristol Futures is an Alternative Provision providing education for 14 -16 year olds who have found mainstream schooling difficult for a variety of reasons. We opened in our newly refurbished school building in Barton Hill in September 2016, offering truly individualised learning packages and support programmes for every one of our students.

City School

City School’s vision is to provide our young people with the skills, experiences and qualifications to secure a positive and prosperous future. We deliver Alternative Provision which recognises that students are all individuals with different strengths and areas to develop. We use these strengths to build success whilst acknowledging areas to develop to create learning opportunities and develop bespoke programs to support all students to thrive.

Cabot Learning Federation

Welcome to the Cabot Learning Federation. Our partnership is sponsored by Rolls Royce PLC and The University of the West England (UWE). We are now the sponsors of ten Academies in Bristol, Weston super Mare and Bath. This means that we are responsible and accountable for the education of 5000 students between the ages of 4 and 19 and for the employment and support of nearly 700 staff.

Our vision is based upon our mission of “collaboration for outstanding achievement” and the work that is now shared between our schools at senior and middle leadership level, teachers and support staff underpins this every day. All of our staff are employed by the CLF and this enables us to give colleagues the opportunity to work in more than one Academy either for their own development or because the skills that they have are needed by more than one of our schools.
