Overview

Buckland Primary School is a 4-11 School set in delightful grounds on the outskirts of the village of Laleham, near Staines. It was built in 1953, and officially opened in 1954.

In 2007 the separate junior and infant schools on the site were amalgamated to form Buckland Primary School.  The building is single-storey and houses fourteen classrooms, three large central learning/resource areas, an ICT suite, two large halls and separate dining halls.

Outside the facilities include a large, tree lined field, two large playgrounds and two wildlife areas with ponds. There are also fitness trails and a quiet garden area for children to sit in at break times. There are currently 400 children on roll. There are strong links with our local secondary school, The Matthew Arnold School. Links with parents and carers are very good, and there is a highly active Parent/Staff Association. There are also good links with local churches and the wider community.

About Us

We worked together on a vision for our school. All the staff and some parents and governors talked together about what was great about Buckland and what short statement would best sum up what we want for our children. We then took our ideas to all the children in their classes. They worked with their teachers on their ideas and then our School Council made the final decision from all the suggestions. Here it is: OUR NEW VISION: Believe Excel Strive Together
