Welcome

Welcome to the Carlisle and Hampton Hill Federation. We are delighted that you have taken the time to find out more about us.

The Federation, which began in September 2014, comprises of two schools - Carlisle Infant School and Hampton Hill Junior School. The Federation has given us a wonderful opportunity to bring these two excellent schools closer together with each and every child at the heart of all that we do.

As a Federation, we have one governing body representing both schools. We have a Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher at each school, and a Business Manager who works across both schools.

We have a wonderful team of over a hundred staff who lead and support across the many areas of school life.

The website reflects the closeness of the two schools along with their individuality. You can click on a school specific site to find out much more detail about each school.

We are honoured and thrilled to have the opportunity to lead this Federation. We are in exciting times and it is really wonderful to see the Federation developing and growing so well and so quickly, providing a caring and cohesive education for all children from the Reception classes through to Year 6.

We are a large over-subscribed 3 form entry infant school with 270 pupils on roll.

We are fortunate to be situated close to Bushy Park and our pupils benefit from regular visits to this wonderful outdoor environment. We believe that children learn best when they can be active and we have a large outdoor environment including two designated gardens so the children have daily opportunities to develop their skills in a range of subjects out of doors.

We are a school where children are encouraged to develop their creative talents and we are proud of or ARTSmark Gold award which we have held since 2005. We are committed to curriculum enrichment and have a large number of creative workshops and visiting artists who come in to school and provide a focus for the children’s learning.

We are a large and over-subscribed three form entry junior school with 360 pupils on roll. We federated with Carlisle Infant School in September 2014 and work extremely well with them, sharing high aspirations and a consistency in approach which supports and promotes the clear progression of all pupils, as they move through KS1 and KS2. We also have very positive working relationships with other partner KS1 and KS3 schools and are committed to ensuring a successful transition for all pupils.

We believe that children learn best when they can be fully involved in their own learning and we are committed to providing them with as wide a range of enriching and engaging experiences as possible. We are fortunate to be situated close to a wide range of stimulating outdoor environments, which we regularly make use of to enhance the experiences the children have at HHJS.

We are a school where children are encouraged to participate in and develop their academic and creative interests and talents and we are proud of the range of external validations we hold, in regard to key areas such as art, music, curriculum, international links and sustainability.

We have a central belief that pupil voice and leadership are key qualities that are beneficial to all and as such, we look to encourage and support the development of these whenever possible.
