We aim to:

• create a happy, caring environment where everyone develops self-esteem and self-discipline and feels valued, confident and motivated in all aspects of school life.

• ensure that all pupils experience high quality and purposeful teaching and learning - encouraging and enabling all pupils to achieve their potential.

• continually develop a self-improving, forward thinking school, fully involving and consulting staff, governors, pupils and parents.

• help children develop lively, enquiring, imaginative and creative minds with the ability to question and argue rationally.

• help children acquire a set of moral values on which to base their own behaviour, e.g. truth, justice, honesty, trust, mutual respect and a sense of duty.

• enable children to develop as active and responsible citizens.

• ensure that no child is excluded because of ethnicity culture or religion, home language, family background, special educational needs, disability, gender or ability.

About Us

Welcome to our School

Chiltern Primary School is a successful school serving the Hessle Road area of the city. We are a larger than average primary school but aim to treat all our pupils as individuals with individual needs and talents.

In September 2013 the school gained foundation school status and, along with Stepney Primary, Pearson Primary and St. George’s Primary school, joined Sidney Smith and Kelvin High School in the West Hull Co-operative Learning trust. The schools in this trust work closely together and with trust schools in the east of the city to promote high quality education for the children of Hull.

Chiltern Primary School is proud to be an Open Futures Flagship School. The four strands, growit, cookit, film it and P4C support our commitment to enquiry based learning and the development of literacy, numeracy, science and technology, in particular, through the practical application of skills.

Chiltern Primary School is a creative, co-operative community. We use restorative approaches to create our caring and supportive ethos and our enthusiastic and committed staff provide high levels of education and pastoral guidance and support to our pupils.
