We are a lively, happy, successful school with extremely enthusiastic children, parents, staff and governors. Our exciting learning environment enriches a stimulating and challenging curriculum, which is enjoyed by a rich diversity of learners. The Overdale Community is particularly proud of the care, support, guidance and achievements of everyone who belongs here. We work in close partnership with schools and other agencies across our vibrant city to ensure that each and every child has the best possible opportunity to enjoy and succeed whilst at Overdale Infant School.

Overdale Infant School caters for 360 children between the ages of 4 and 7 years, all of whom attend full time and a Pre-school for 3 and 4 year old children.

The school operates in two key stages whilst prioritising the individual needs of our children:

Foundation Stage: Pre-school (ages 3 -4) and Reception (ages 4-5)

Key Stage 1: Year 1 (ages 5-6) and Year 2 (ages 6-7)

There are 120 children in each year group (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2).

The pre-school welcomes children from 3 years of age and is managed by a long-standing and experienced team of Early years practitioners.

About Us

ODWeb21-1027.jpg

We aim to meet the needs of every unique child through an exciting broad, balanced curriculum which is based on developing skills for learning and investigation of the world around us. We work in effective partnership with the families and wider community, valuing all children as individuals and developing their interests and potential accordingly.

Parents, carers and volunteers are encouraged to share in the many aspects of school life, to work alongside the children and to celebrate their successes and achievements.

We are particularly proud of the care, support, guidance and achievements of everyone who belongs here. We work in close partnership with schools and other agencies across our vibrant city to ensure that each and every child has the best possible opportunity to enjoy and succeed whilst at Overdale Infant School.

The school is part of a wonderful community. We work closely with members of our local community raising money for local charities, supporting foodbanks and more recently our inter-generational work with local care homes.

We are part of the OAK Academies Trust alongside Overdale Junior School, Brookside Primary School, Woodland Grange Primary School and Manor High School. We work collaboratively to ensure that all children from 3-16 receive a high quality education.
