The Coombe Secondary Schools Academy Trust (CSSAT) was formed on 1st February 2012 comprising Coombe Boys' School, Coombe Girls' School and Coombe Sixth Form.  The origins of the Trust were based on the highly successful Coombe Secondary Schools Federation which had been in existence since January 2006.

On 1 April 2014, Knollmead Primary School joined the CSSAT as a sponsored academy. The Federation shares one Governing body and is led by the Head of Federation Mrs Deborah Walls, who was appointed in 2010.

About Us

A much-loved New Malden institution since 1955, Coombe Girls’ School has enabled generations of local girls to fulfil their promise and exceed their parents’ hopes and expectations. Our excellent reputation is built on the strongest of foundations – our desire to produce happy, successful and well-balanced children. Coombe Boys' School has a proud history stretching all the way back to 1931 when it was founded as Beverley Central School and quickly gained a reputation for academic and sporting excellence. The school changed its name and became part of the federation.

Our rapidly expanding sixth form now numbers 600 students, all attracted by our excellent reputation for academic success. More students than ever before are going on to university and Oxbridge admissions continuing to flourish. The components of the Federation share a ‘Coombe ethos’ encompassing a ‘whole student’ approach that’s truly preparing them for a world of opportunity.

Living in Kingston

One of London’s liveliest boroughs. Life revolves around the Thames, with the buzzing market town of Kingston being the main attraction. Kingston High Street runs parallel to the Thames so it many of its favourite restaurants are found situated along the banks of the riverside.

With the popular Kingston University based here there is an abundance of bars and clubs to entertain the vibrant student population and younger residence.

Kingston upon Thames is one of the greener areas of the capital with two royal parks in neighbouring Richmond upon Thames. Local parks hold facilities to cater for all those who enjoy the great outdoors, such as Canbury Gardens which is home to the Kingston Rowing Club boathouse and is in turn a great spot for fishing.

Only half an hour from central London it has excellent train links. Situated near to the A3 and M25 it is also easily accessible by car. The river bus as an excellent alternative to get into Canary Wharf and London Bridge.

Wimbledon Championships - In the neighbouring Merton bordering Kingston, the world famous Wimbledon Championships takes place. Indulge yourself in summer fun with a spot of Pimms, and Strawberries and Cream.

The Thames - Enjoy the beauty of the Thames when the weather permits it on foot, bicycle or boat.

Kingston Markets - Hunt for bargains in Kingston’s 800 year old markets.

Chessington World of Adventure - One of the UKs biggest and best theme parks. Great for those ‘kidults’ amongst us.

“Out of Order” by David Mach- Iconic sculpture that has been snapped by tourists the world around. If you’ve seen photos of London you’ll probably have seen this.
