Peter Brammall, has been appointed as the new Principal and Chief Executive of Coventry College from August 1st. He was previously the Principal and Chief Executive at Guildford College until July 2017.
Peter has held a number of senior positions across the education and skills sector, which includes: the role of Assistant Director for Education and Skills within a large Local Authority, Chief Operating office of the largest Multi-Academy chain in England, running 76 cross-phase schools across England; the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), where he was responsible for operational delivery across the national £7BN post-16 learning and skills programmes, including FE and Work-based Learning, along with the launch and implementation of the National Apprenticeship Service across the West Midlands. Peter was also Executive Director for the LSC in Derbyshire, and Birmingham and Solihull, developing skills provision to meet employer/sector needs, including commissioning and performance managing FE colleges and training providers.
Peter says “This is an exciting new chapter for Further Education in Coventry as we create a larger and more resilient college. I am looking forward to leading the new college and I will be working with our partners to develop a new exciting “Coventry curriculum” which will provide exceptional education, high quality skills and training for our learners and meet the needs of our growing economy in the West Midlands”.
I look forward to a stimulating and challenging discussion with partners to shape the skills landscape in Coventry and the wider region. There is an opportunity for us to have real debate about what the post-16 sector needs to look like over the next 10 years to support the economic growth and employers as they navigate the post-Brexit world.
