Overview

Crane Park Primary has much to offer young adults of the future. We welcome pupils of all abilities and celebrate the diversity of cultures, backgrounds and talents which pupils, parents and staff bring to the school. We want every child to enjoy their time at school and to achieve their best.  We believe everyone has something special to contribute.  We take pride in developing academic achievement, a sense of responsibility, independence, confidence and mutual respect for others.

Our school is a lively and busy educational hub for an established urban housing estate and has 501 pupils on roll.  The estate is bounded by a river and 3 major roads one of which is an urban motorway.

The school campus includes a unit for children within the autistic spectrum (ACE Zone), a Neighbourhood Nursery (for children from 3 months to 5 years), a playgroup, a separately managed but linked Childrens' Centre and a variety of 'wrap around' care provision.

We are an Extended Learning Centre for the whole community.

It is an exciting and stimulating learning environment where children are encouraged to become responsible and confident young people. We aim to enable children to realise their full potential in English and mathematics and to develop their minds to the full through opportunities to learn within a broader curriculum, encompassing sport and particularly the creative arts.

We encourage in children a broad understanding of our world, an appreciation of all cultures and a sensitivity to the needs of other people, so that foundations will be laid for an adult who will make a positive and meaningful contribution to society.

History of the School

Crane Park Primary School came into being on 1st September 2001 and is an amalgamation of Crane Infant and Crane Junior schools. The school is set in a very large site on the Butts Farm Estate in Hanworth. The infant and junior schools were opened in 1952 and were originally built as a hospital. There has been considerable new building in order to link the separate schools for the amalgamation and at present we are expanding even further.

The school is a designated Extended School and Children’s Centre. There is a Neighbourhood Nursery for up to sixty five children aged between 3 months – 5 years.
